Mobile Account Opening

Brand new individual customers1 can now open a personal account remotely through the "PBHK Digi" mobile application. All you need to do is to prepare a mobile device and Hong Kong Identity Card to complete the application process. There is no need to visit a branch in person during the entire process. After successfully opening an account, you can instantly manage the account through electronic banking, allowing you to enjoy fast and convenient banking services anytime, anywhere.

 

Mobile account opening application process:

1. Download the "PBHK Digi" mobile app via Apple App Store or Google Play

2. Select "Open Savings Account" on the homepage of "PBHK Digi"

3. Follow the instructions to complete the application process, including the below 3 steps by using the same mobile device:

- Take a photo of your Hong Kong Identity Card

- Take a selfie

- Complete the application form

 

Basic application and information requirements: 

  • Aged 18 or above
  • Do not hold any sole personal account with the Bank
  • Hold a valid Hong Kong Identity Card (2018 Version)
  • Provide a valid Hong Kong mobile number and email address

 

Simple application information: 

  • Occupation and other information
  • The expected transaction volume and origin/source of the wealth
  • Reasons for opening a bank account in Hong Kong etc.

 

Account types and services that can be opened: 

  • HKD Maxi-Interest Savings Account (Statement Savings) in sole name
  • Personal Net Banking
  • Mobile banking "PBHK Digi"
  • Applicants can deposit money into the newly opened bank account via FPS after opening an account.

Brand new individual customers refer to customers who have not used any of the Bank’s services before. For non-new individual customer, please visit any branch of the Bank in person to go through the account opening procedures.

 

P.S. - The Bank may require further documents & information whenever it deems necessary. The Bank may, at its sole discretion & subject to internal assessment, determine whether any application of account opening can be accepted or not.
