This plan, not only allow you to meet your legal obligation as an employer, it covers your unexpected loss during the period of employment contract with your domestic helper. Eligibility

This plan is only available for overseas domestic helpers who are employed under a written contract of domestic services.

Waiting Period

A 14-days Waiting Period from the effective date of the insurance cover for each domestic helper shall be applicable under Sections of Surgical & Hospitalization Expenses, Clinical Expenses, Dental Expenses and Service Interruption Cover during which no benefit shall be payable.

Cancellation Policy

Once the on-line application is approved, any request for cancellation of this insurance shall be made by the Insured person along with HKID and a copy of the policy at any Public Bank (Hong Kong) branches. In addition, administration fee of HK$ 100 and a minimum premium per policy of HK$ 400 will be charged.

Please read the following claims procedures, complete and submit the claim form together with the relevant original documents to us. If necessary, we may require the employer and injured employee to provide further information or documentary proof for our claim assessment purposes.

Employee’s Compensation for Domestic Helper

If your domestic helper suffers accidental bodily injury arising out of and in the course of employment

  1. To seek medical examination or treatment by a registered medical practitioner at a hospital or clinic immediately, and then obtain the sick leave certificate and medical receipt from the registered medical practitioner.

  2. i)    If the accident results in total or partial incapacity of the employee for not exceeding 3 days
          and does not result in permanent incapacity, please complete and submit a prescribed
          Form 2B in duplicate to the Labour Department within 14 days of the accident. For details,
          please access the web site of Labour Department’s Employees' Compensation Section.
          (i.e. the employer shall also notify and submit a copy of the Form 2B to us simultaneously);
                                                                        or
    ii)   If the accident results in total or partial incapacity of the employee for exceeding 3 days or
          results in permanent incapacity, please complete and submit a prescribed Form 2 in duplicate
          to the Labour Department within 14 days of the accident. For details, please access the
          web site of Labour Department’s Employees’ Compensation Section. (i.e. the employer
          shall also notify and submit a copy of the Form 2B to us simultaneously)

  3. i)    Upon the expiry of sick leave, the employee should approach the Labour Department for sick
          leave clearance and, where necessary, to arrange for further assessment to assess the
          permanent loss of earning capacity caused by the injury.
                                                                        or
    ii)   For injuries involving only temporary incapacity for a period not exceeding 7 days, the
          employer may directly agree with the employee in writing or verbally as to the compensation
          payable for claim settlement. In this case, the employee is no need to approach Labour
          Department for sick leave clearance or medical assessment.

  4. Please follow all claims requisite procedures prescribed by the Labour Department within the statutory time limits. Upon the completion of aforesaid claim procedures, please submit the following documents to us as soon as possible
    i)    The Original Sick Leave Certificate(s);
    ii)   The Original Medical Receipt(s);
    iii)   For injuries involving only temporary incapacity for a period not exceeding 7 days, please
          submit the Original Agreement for Claim Direct Settlement which should be signed by both
          parties of the employer and employee (if applicable);
    iv)  The Original Certificate of Compensation Assessment (Form 5) issued by the Labour
          Department (if applicable);
    v)   The Original Certificate of Assessment (Form 7) issued by the Labour Department (if applicable).
 

Important notes:

1.  For fatal work accident, the employer should call our Claims Hotline as soon as possible for details
     of claims procedures.
2.  The employer should keep a copy of all submitted documents for future reference purposes.
3.  Under the current Employees’ Compensation Ordinance, the Chinese herbalist and bonesetter have
     not been recognized as "Registered Medical Practitioner". Therefore, any sick leave certificates or
     medical receipts issued by such parties will not be accepted.

 

Hospitalization and Surgical Expenses / Service Interruption Cover

Please submit the following documents within 30 days of discharge from hospital
i)   Original Hospital Bill and Receipt(s);
ii)  A signed and completed Claim Form (the back page of the claim form should be signed and
    completed by the attending doctor. If the Discharge Summary has been provided, the attending
    doctor does not require to fill in the back page of the claim form).
iii) Discharge Summary (submit the request to the attending doctor before discharge from hospital).
 

Clinical / Dental Expenses

Please submit the following documents within 30 days of medical treatment or consultation:
i)   Original Medical Receipt(s);
ii)   A signed and completed Claim Form
 

Repatriation/ Replacement Helper Expenses

Please submit the following documents before repatriating the insured domestic helper to his/her country of residence:
i)    A signed and completed Claim Form
ii)   The Medical Certificate to certify that the insured domestic helper is medically unfit to continue
      employment;
iii)  The respective Employment Contracts of the repatriated and new domestic helpers;
iv)  Notice of Termination issued by either employer or domestic helper;
v)   Acknowledgement for the termination of employment issued by Immigration Department;
vi)  Original Receipt of air ticket fees for repatriating the insured domestic helper to his/her country of
      residence;
vii) Original Receipt of employment agency fees for the new replacement of domestic helper.
 

Personal Accident Cover

If the insured domestic helper suffers accidental bodily injury whilst at work, please submit the following documents within 30 days of the accident
i)   A signed and completed Claim Form;
ii)  The Original Medical Examination or Treatment Report, Medical Receipt and Police Report
    (if applicable), etc.
 

Fidelity Protection

Please report to the Police within 24 hours of discovery of any act of fraud or dishonesty committed by the insured domestic helper. And then, submit the following documents to us as soon as possible:
i)   A signed and completed Claim Form
ii)  Police Report, Purchasing Invoice(s) or receipt(s) of the damaged properties, date of unauthorized long
    long distance calls, telephone bills for last 3 months, and etc.
 

Domestic Helper Liability

If any third party claims for the bodily injury or property damage due to the insured domestic helper’s negligence in the course of employment, please submit the following documents to us as soon as possible:
i)   A signed and completed Claim Form;
ii)  All correspondences, documents, and photographs (if any), relating to or in connection with the
    accident.

Important notes:
1. For serious injury, loss or damage accident, the employer should call our Claims Hotline immediately
    for details of claims procedures. For claims assessment purpose, we may arrange our staff or loss
    adjuster to undergo site inspection where necessary.

2. Please do not admit liability on or enter into any settlement agreement with third party without our
    written consent. All correspondences or legal documents received from third party shall be forwarded
    to us immediately.

Replacement Cost of Door Lock or Metal Gate Lock

please submit the following documents to us as soon as possible:
i)     A signed and completed Claim Form
ii)    Original Receipt for Replacement Cost of Door Lock or Metal Gate Lock
iii)   The Medical Certificate to certify that the insured domestic helper is medically unfit to continue
      employment;
iv)   The respective Employment Contracts of the repatriated and new domestic helpers;
v)    Notice of Termination issued by either employer or domestic helper;
vi)   Acknowledgement for the termination of employment issued by Immigration Department;
vii)  Original Receipt of air ticket fees for repatriating the insured domestic helper to his/her country of
      residence;
viii) Police Report (if applicable).
